Dogwood Hill Baptist Church
Church History Overview:
We are a Southern Baptist Church with approximately +or-350 in total membership. Our church was founded in 1896 with 13 charter members which worshipped in the school house which once stood across the road from the current church. A few years later, the central portion of the original church was built and later the sanctuary and wings were built.
On Easter Sunday, April 30 1977, we held our first service in a newly constructed educational facility. In May of 1977, the old church building which was constructed about 1905, was torn down and removed from the site.
On Our Harvest/Homecoming Sunday, November 4,1984 we held a dedication service for the newly constructed sanctuary.
In July of 1998 we completed construction a new fellowship hall which was dedicated on Harvest Day November 24, 1998.
Our current Pastor, Alvin Jackson, became the undersheppard of our church in February of 2002.
Our current Sunday School enrollment is 206 and 2002-2003 Sunday School, this past few weeks attendance has averaged was 150 with an average of about 175 for worship.
